The Grand Palais is a large exhibition hall and museum in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, France, built for the 1900 Paris Exposition. Four architects were involved in the design of the building, and its grand façade is considered a classic example of early Beaux-Arts architecture. The large exterior is also decorated in classical stone with bold Art Deco ornamentation in iron.
Today, the Grand Palais hosts fashion shows and various exhibitions by Chanel and others, and is used as the permanent Grand Palais National Gallery (Musée National du Grand Palais) and the Museum of Science and Technology (Hall of Discovery).
During the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Grand Palais will be the venue for the fencing and taekwondo competitions. The building's history and beauty will make it a special setting for the athletes.
